Rehab lives with her grandmother in the Kamae slum in Nairobi, Kenya. Her parents separated when she was just five years old and both went their separate ways without paying attention to what was actually happening to Rehab. Her grandmother took her in and has been taking care of her ever since. To feed herself and Rehab, her grandmother sells homegrown food at the local market in Kamae. The neighborhood in which the two live is dominated by violence, alcohol consumption, and drug abuse.
Rehab’s dream is to become a doctor and heal people with her work. She had to go to the hospital herself once and has been fascinated by its work ever since. In her free time, she loves to dance. When dancing she can express her emotions and also train her physical endurance. Her favorite color is blue because this color flatters her very much.Rehab already went to school for six years, but now she had to leave school due to lack of money. Because of the worldwide Corona pandemic, her grandmother can no longer afford the school fees and Rehab has had to stay at home in the slum ever since. She would incredibly love to go back to school. She loves to learn and spend the day together with her friends in a safe environment. She does not feel safe at home.
