My name is Samuel and I live with my mum and stepdad in the Soweto slums in Nairobi, Kenya.I have a sister who unfortunately does not live with us. I have a good relationship with my family, I like to help out around the house (especially with the laundry) and I try to earn some extra money by working as a cashier. Nevertheless, it is barely enough to live on.

There is no fireman in our slum. My biggest dream is to become a firefighter later on, so that I can help my family and friends in case of fire. The colour red is my favourite colour because it is worn by firefighters. My favourite animal is the elephant because it is so strong, that’s exactly how I want to be!I have been to school before, unfortunately my dad died and my mum couldn’t look after me on her own. During the time in the children’s home I could no longer go to school. Now that I’m back home, I can go back to school and I really hope that it will be soon
