Team introduction - Philipp

In the first newsletter of the year 2023 we introduce Philipp to you. It's amazing how big our team is already, that our team introduction has been in our newsletter all the time.

Hello,

my name is Philipp and I am 23 years old. I am currently studying German and History in Rostock. On the side I work as a youth coach for the Rostock Seawolves. Since October 2022 I have been volunteering for ULT.

What are your tasks at ULT?

Since I’ve only been with the company for a short time, my responsibilities are not yet clearly defined. But the tendency is more towards social media and other PR matters. I am also looking forward to working with donors and sponsors.

Why are you involved in ULT?

I came across ULT by chance via Samira’s Instagram Story. Then I read up on it and applied to one of the job postings. I had been interested in working in an NGO for a long time and then the perfect opportunity arose.

What was your favourite subject and what was your hate subject at school?

My favorite subjects were definitely sports and history. My absolute hate subject was and is mathematics. I can’t deal with numbers at all.

Where do you see ULT in 5 years?

Growth Growth Growth. Five years is a long time, but of course I very much hope that by then we will have completed the school construction and a large number of children will be able to get a hot meal.

Tell a funny/awkward/beautiful story from your school days.

This story happened in 8th/9th grade. As a class, we always sat in the same place at recess and at some point someone had the idea of starting a song. That meant that one of us sang it and the rest repeated it. After a few days this became too boring and we formulated a separate part for everyone in the class. Then our class sat in the schoolyard and we sang loudly. The looks from the other students were priceless.
